Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across Nairobi and six other counties on Wednesday, June 11.

In a notice on Tuesday, June 10, the utility firm said the affected areas will experience outages between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on location.

In Nairobi, residents in Mukuru Kwa Njenga and parts of Pipeline will experience a blackout from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include Maziwa Stage, M-Gas Mukuru Depot, Villa Police Station, Wapewape Road, Embakasi Girls, Muindi Mweusi Supermarket, Chaminade, St. Mary’s Hospital, Kware Police Post, Pipeline Chairmans, Kware Statehouse, and adjacent customers.

In the Central Rift region, parts of Nyandarua County including Magumu and Ihendu Kenton, such as Matches, Sasini, GOTV Magumu, and Viewpoint Magumu, will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

In Nakuru County, parts of Molo and Olenguruone will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., including Muchorwe, Olposimoru, Kiptagich, Tachasis Tea Factory, and surrounding areas.

In Baringo County, areas around Bartolimo and Kipcherere such as Kasok Girls, Root Safaricom Booster, and Koroto Market will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In the Western region, Vihiga County’s Shamakhoho Market and surrounding locations including Hamisi, Jepses, and the Bamboo Factory will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In the Mt. Kenya region, Nyeri County’s Kiawarigi and Kiamaina areas including Thangathi, Ichuga Secondary, and Safaricom Boosters will face power outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Meanwhile, Kirichu and Ndurutu areas, including Kirichu Market, Rosa Academy, and Wangi Water Project, will be without power from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In the North Eastern region, Kiambu County will also be affected, with extensive outages expected around Toll Station and Murera Coffee. 

Areas such as Ruiru KU Model School, Spur Mall, Mugutha, Mona Park, and other adjacent estates will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
