Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has denied allegations that he met with Calvince Okoth alias Gaucho on Sunday, June 15, and gave him Ksh2 million to facilitate the goons that disrupted the Tuesday protest.
In response to the allegations that were circulating online on Friday, June 20, Sakaja stated that he was not in Nairobi at the time of the alleged meeting.
According to Sakaja, who shared a plane ticket, he arrived in Nairobi on Monday afternoon after a weekend in Western Kenya.
He described the reports linking him to the Gaucho meeting as lies, adding that he had not met with Gaucho for a long time.

"Such blatant lies. On Sunday, I was in Lugari for Church and came back to Nairobi on Monday afternoon through Kitale via skywards. Ticket below," he responded.
"I have not seen Gaucho since he attended the Mukuru Housing Launch or Swaleh in many months (everyone knows who he works for)."
Sakaja came under fire after the Tuesday protests that saw several armed goons disrupt the protests that had been organised in honor of Albert Ojwang, who was killed while in police custody.
After the protests, some leaders, including Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, claimed that the goons were sponsored by Sakaja.
"The recent attacks by goons on innocent people are not just acts of cowardice but a direct assault on the values we hold dear as a society. These goons are criminals and must be treated as such," Babu stated.
"Johnson Sakaja, your actions did not make you strong. Hurting others does not give you power; it only reveals your utter disregard for the rule of law."
Meanwhile, during interviews with Citizen TV on Friday, some of the goons lamented that they were shortchanged.
The goons revealed that they were to be paid Ksh2,000 after disrupting the protests
