Activist Morara Kebaso has sparked a debate online after hinting at the possibility of quitting politics.

In a statement via his official X account on Monday, June 23 evening, Morara said he will live his life freely.

The Inject Party leader explained that he will be focusing on doing business and living his life fully without worrying about the pressure from social media.

I finally escaped politics. I can now live my life. I can run my business, make my money, travel the world, see my friends, visit a bar, and not worry about pictures. I'm free. Nobody can judge me if I dance the wrong way or smile the wrong way. I don’t need security. I can drive myself and race like hell. I don’t have to show up for TV interviews and get misquoted. I don’t have to care about social media or negative comments from people who haven’t achieved even half of what I’ve accomplished at a young age," Kebaso stated.

The activist went on to say he would hand over the assets that Kenyans had contributed to him to capable Inject Party leaders.

“I am aware that there are assets in my possession that were contributed by Kenyans of goodwill. I will hand over the assets to the capable INJECT leadership, who will continue with the dream of building a political party that gives a chance to young people. You can expect to hear from them soon after they meet,” he added.

The Inject party leader came to the limelight in June 2024 through his Vampire Diaries episodes, where he exposed stalled government projects.

Morara’s statement has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans online, with a section of them accusing him of trying to distract the people ahead of the June 25 protests.

Other social media users accused Morara of being a conman, claiming he chose to leave the political arena after receiving millions from Kenyans.
