The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, led by renowned evangelist Prophet Dr. David Owuor, has strongly denounced viral reports alleging that the world will end on August 2, 2025.
In an official press statement dated Friday, August 1, the church described the claims as false, baseless, and malicious, intended to harm not only the reputation of Prophet Dr. Owuor and the Ministry but also the unity and testimony of the Church.
“The Prophet has always been very categorical that nobody knows the day or the hour when the Messiah will return, as clearly stated in Matthew 24:36,” read the statement signed by Senior Archbishop Michael Nisewand. “These misleading reports are entirely inconsistent with the teachings and doctrine of the Ministry.”
The church clarified that it had previously issued an official statement on July 13, 2025, addressing similar rumors. This statement was aired on national broadcaster KBC and various online platforms, including social media and radio.

“We urge all media houses, bloggers, content creators, and social media users to refrain from spreading unverified allegations,” the statement continued. “As believers, we are called to uphold truth, peace, and righteousness.”
The Ministry has reiterated its commitment to preaching repentance and holiness, calling on the public to remain prayerful and discerning, and to avoid panic over unfounded prophecies.
The statement comes amid growing concern over online content linking the Prophet to apocalyptic predictions, which have recently gained traction on platforms such as TikTok and Facebook.
Senior church leaders now call for unity and vigilance as they warn against misinformation's spiritual and societal harm.
