KUCCPS Opens TVET Placement Applications [DETAILS]

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes for the September 2025 intake.

In a notice issued on Saturday, August 9, KUCCPS invited KCSE holders from 2000 to 2024 to submit their applications.

All applications will be made online through the KUCCPS student portal at students.kuccps.net between August 8 and 22.

To boost access and encourage more candidates to apply, KUCCPS has significantly reduced the application fee from Ksh 1,500 to Ksh 500.

The placement service outlined the minimum requirements for the various programmes, stating that those seeking to pursue diploma courses must have attained at least a C- in KCSE. At the same time, a grade of D is required for craft certificate programmes.

Applicants for artisan certificate courses will need a minimum grade of E.

KUCCPS also announced an opportunity for teachers with P1 or Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) certificates to upgrade their qualifications to Diploma level. 

Interested candidates were instructed to submit applications online through a dedicated KUCCPS portal accessible through teachersupgrade.kuccps.ac.ke.

The teachers will select their preferred Teacher Training College (TTC), which will offer the programme through a flexible training schedule starting this month or during the November-December school holidays,” the media release read in part. “To be eligible, the teachers must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). The application opened on 6th August 2025 and will run continually with brief stops for processing of received applications. The initial deadline is 20th August 2025.”
