President Ruto has extended his condolences to the family and friends.

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi's sister Winnie Nyambura has died.

In a short statement, the governor expressed his grief over the loss of his beloved sibling, acknowledging the painful reality of death while finding solace in faith.

"Death is cruel. It takes from us the people we love and cherish, leaving a hurting void. But we have to accept the will of God because it's in him; we take comfort during such times,” the statement read. “Rest in eternal peace, my sister, Winnie Peninah Nyambura. As a family, we cherish the times God allowed us to be together. Go well, Nyambura."

President William Ruto has extended his condolences to the grieving family and offered prayers and support during this difficult period.

"May the Lord grant Governor Kimani Wamatangi strength to bear with the loss of his dear sister, Winnie Nyambura,” Ruto stated.

During this difficult time, the head of state also sent a comforting message to friends and the people of Kiambu.

“The family, friends, and the people of Kiambu are in our thoughts and prayers at this painful time. Rest In Peace, Winnie."

The death comes at a time when the country is also mourning the loss of another prominent political leader.

Yesterday, Thursday, September 4, the nation learned of the passing of Mzee Isaac Ichung'wah Ngugi, father to Kikuyu Member of Parliament and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah.

 Isaac Ichung'wah Ngugi.

The 105-year-old patriarch died peacefully at his Kikuyu residence after being discharged from Karen Hospital the previous week following a seven-day stay.

According to the Office of the National Assembly Speaker, Mzee Ngugi died in his sleep during the early morning hours.

President Ruto also mourned the elderly man, describing him as an enterprising businessman who played a pivotal role in establishing Kikuyu Town.

"Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends on the passing of Mzee Isaac Ngugi, the father of Hon. Kimani Ichung'wah. He was an industrious and astute businessman and one of the brains behind the founding of Kikuyu Town. Mzee touched many lives through his many transformative initiatives that supported the vulnerable. His legacy will live on. Rest In Peace, Mzee,” Ruto stated.
