The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists Dentists Union (KMPDU) has given an indication of an oncoming nationwide strike, which will disrupt medical services in public hospitals.
KMPDU secretary general Davji Atellah said the industrial action would be in solidarity with their colleagues in Kiambu County.
For over four months, the medics in Kiambu have been on strike, demanding, among other things, their salaries arrears that have piled up for up to seven months.
Atellah led the union in castigating the Kiambu County administration under Governor Kimani Wamatangi.
They accused the county boss of reneging on the previous agreement he reached with the doctors.

As a show of solidarity, Atellah announced demonstrations in Kiambu County this week, with a petition to the president at the height of the march.
Should the two levels of government fail to unlock the stalemate, the doctors across the country will be embarking on a strike.
KMPDU indicated a 14-day notice of the strike.
"If in the next 14 days nothing changes, we shall have our National Advisory Council meeting to sanction a national industrial action in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Kiambu county," Atellah added.
Deaths have been reported in the county in the course of the strike.
KMPDU recently reported that at least 165 infants and five mothers have died since the strike began.
The county government however flagged the numbers as fabricated.
Kiambu County Chief Officer of Health Services Patrick Nyagah noted that the matter had been politicised, and the KMPDU was being used as a pawn.
Nyagah explained that the crisis in the county's healthcare stems from the national government transferring interns posted there to other counties.
