Oscar Sudi has hit out at Mohammed Ali after he met former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has criticized his Nyali counterpart, Mohammed Ali, after meeting with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In a statement on Saturday, October 4, Sudi accused Ali of expecting personal gain from the Kenya Kwanza administration after it assumed power.

The Kapseret MP also questioned Gachagua’s capacity to mentor other leaders, saying the former DP failed to offer himself sound advice.

“I wonder how Gachagua, who failed to advise himself, can now purport to mentor Mohammed Ali.

“The problem with Ali is that he thought when we formed this government, he'd get a place to get free money, unaware that the government has its procedures. Instead of working hard and doing business, he was expecting free money. Even if another government is formed, there's no place to get money freely,” Sudi stated.

Sudi’s remarks came after Gachagua held a meeting with the Nyali lawmaker on Saturday.

In a statement on his social media pages, the DCP party leader said Ali is one of the young MPs he is mentoring.

“I thank God for healing my great friend Hon Mohamed Ali, aka Jicho Pevu, who has struggled with a serious knee injury for almost a year after multiple surgeries, denying him the opportunity to effectively serve the people of Nyali Constituency.

“It was great to have spent my Saturday with Moha catching up from our days in the 12th parliament. Moha is one of the young, talented leaders whom I am mentoring,” Gachagua stated.

The former Deputy President also said that Mohamed Ali has a bright future in Coast politics, noting that he is impressed by the Nyali MP’s ideas on mobilizing and uniting the region.

“He has a great future as a leader for the Coast Region and Kenya. I am very impressed by his great ideas on how to mobilise the Coast region to liberate our country. It shall not be forgotten that for far too long, the people of the coast region have been treated to politics of conmanship irrespective of the injustices they have suffered, especially land issues,” Gachagua added.

The meeting between Ali and Gachagua comes months after he said no one would stop him from talking to the former DP.

"He was our deputy president, but he was impeached, and he's out there continuing with his politics. There is no one who is going to stop me from talking to him; there is no one who is going to stop me from having a cup of tea with him," Ali said on April 14.

On April 10, Ali withdrew from the UDA grassroots elections in Mombasa, citing manipulation and interference by top party leadership.

The MP accused the UDA Secretary General of interference and handpicking of officials, which he claimed undermines the democratic process within the party.

"It has become unequivocally clear that the upcoming Mombasa grassroots elections have been compromised, and hence, it is quite unfortunate that #TeamMohamedAli will not be taking any part in them," he stated.
