Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya revisited memories when she joined the community at Ole Ntutu Arid Zone Comprehensive School on Friday, October 10.
The CS was in Narok, where she joined other leaders in observing the Mazingira Day.
She spent the day in the school, her alma mater, where she mingled with the young learners as she relished the nostalgic memories of the school.
In a display of rekindling the memories, Tuya donned a full school uniform to blend with the learners.
The CS donned a sky blue dress accessorised by a grey sweater. On her feet were black shoes and white socks.

"Today was a nostalgic return to my alma mater, Ole Ntutu Arid Zone Comprehensive School, to mark Mazingira Day 2025, joined by the Narok South Member of Parliament Hon. Ntutu Kitilai, Narok County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia, Deputy Air Force Commander Brig. Samuel Kipkorir, Vice Chancellor, Maasai Mara University, Prof. Peninah Aloo Obudho, esteemed partners, NGAO, the Kenya Forest Service, the Ministry of Defence family, as well as the local school (current & alumni) and Ololunga communities, together demonstrating the power of partnership in restoring our environment," she said.
Tuya rose the ranks to be a ranking officer in the current government. She is the first woman from the Maasai community to make it to the level of a Cabinet Secretary.
Tuya is a lawyer by profession and an alumnus of the University of Nairobi.
She also holds a postgraduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
The CS hails from a large family as the fourth-born among 15 children of former Narok South MP, Samson Ole Tuya.
Tuya began her career in public service at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, serving as a legal officer between 2006 and 2008.
She later joined Kituo Cha Sheria, a non-governmental organisation focused on legal aid for marginalised communities, where she held multiple roles, including Acting Executive Director, Education Coordinator, and Legal Aid Officer.
She joined politics in 2013 when she was elected Narok's woman representative. She was re-elected in 2017 to serve her second term.
Tuya was appointed CS in 2022, becoming one of pioneer CSs for the Kenya Kwanza regime.
