The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a temporary disruption of its integrated Customs Management System (iCMS) due to scheduled maintenance.

In a notice issued on Friday, November 7, the authority informed all stakeholders that the maintenance exercise will take place on Sunday, November 9, 2025, between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

"The Kenya Revenue Authority informs all stakeholders that there will be a scheduled maintenance of the iCMS System as follows: START: Sunday, 9th November 2025, 6:00 AM. END: Sunday, 9th November 2025, 9:00 AM," the notice read.

According to KRA, the iCMS platform will be completely unavailable to users during the three-hour maintenance window, potentially affecting various customs-related services, including cargo clearance, duty payments, and other import and export processes.

"During this period, the iCMS System will be unavailable," the authority stated. "Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted," the authority emphasized in the notice.

This is not the first time KRA has conducted scheduled maintenance on its digital platforms. The authority regularly conducts such exercises to ensure the optimal performance and security of its systems.

In October 2025, KRA announced a similar maintenance exercise for its iTax system, which ran for four hours from Saturday, October 25, at 8:00 PM to Sunday, October 26, at 12:00 AM. During that period, the iTax platform was completely unavailable to all users, affecting various tax-related services such as filing returns, making payments, and accessing tax compliance certificates.

The maintenance announcements come at a time when KRA has been recording impressive revenue collection figures, demonstrating the effectiveness of its modernized systems and reform initiatives.

In September 2025, the authority achieved a historic milestone by collecting Ksh85.146 billion in customs taxes, the highest single-month collection in its history.

The September collection surpassed the previous record of Ksh 82.554 billion set in January 2025, exceeding the monthly target by Ksh 3.806 billion. The performance marked an impressive year-on-year growth of 18.8% compared to the same period in the previous financial year.
