Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has warned President Ruto against the rising political violence ahead of the by-elections scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Speaking on Saturday, November 22, Kuria said the International Community is watching how Kenya will conduct the upcoming by-elections.
The Chama Cha Kazi party leader cited tensions in Narok, Embu and Bungoma Counties, where by-elections will be conducted next week.
“I was here in 2007, and I saw what Kenya went through. I cannot remain silent, and my heart is not at peace. Yesterday in Narok, they were threatening people, and you saw what happened to Natembeya in Kabuchai.
“I want to tell President William Ruto directly: the international community is watching. How we conduct these elections is of interest to the international community,” said Kuria.

The former CS also cautioned against malpractice in the by-elections, saying it will not be business as usual.
Kuria stressed that the level of tolerance among Kenyans is currently at its lowest
“Some people are thinking that what Suluhu did can be done here. My friends, Kenyans are not Tanzanians, don’t try that here.
“It will not be business as usual if you try those tricks. Kenyans’ level of tolerance is at its lowest,” Kuria added.
This comes after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya was attacked in Kabuchai, Bungoma County.
Natembeya was campaigning for DAP-K’s MCA aspirant Eric Wekesa when goons disrupted the event.
In a statement after the incident, DAP-K blamed National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula of orchestrating the attack.
“Political violence should not be entertained. Governor George Natembeya and a host of leaders, while campaigning for MCA aspirant Eric Wekesa, were today attacked in Kabuchai by goons associated with the worst Speaker Wetang'ula. IEBC and NPS stop the silence and act,” DAP stated.
