President William Ruto is set to leave the country for Luanda, Angola, where he will take part in high-level continental and international meetings.
In a statement on Monday, November 24, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed highlighted his itinerary which involves attending the 7th African Union-European Union Summit, chairing a crucial AU reform session, and holding bilateral talks with European leaders.
"President William Ruto departs this afternoon for Luanda, Angola, for two key engagements: The 7th African Union-European Union Summit and the Second Session of the Ad Hoc Oversight Committee on African Union Institutional Reform, which he will chair as the AU Champion for Institutional Reform," the statement read.
It explained that the AU-EU Summit will focus on assessing two decades of cooperation while tackling shifting geopolitical realities, funding shortages, and rising security pressures.
It added that Kenya intends to push for predictable financing of African-led peace missions, stronger counter-terrorism partnerships, and joint climate action.

"At the AU-EU Summit, President Ruto and fellow leaders will review two decades of Africa-Europe cooperation and address emerging challenges, including shifting geopolitical priorities, funding gaps, and rising security pressures.
"Kenya will advance priorities on predictable financing for African-led peace operations, stronger counter-terrorism and border security collaboration, as well as joint action on climate," the statement added.

State House further noted that Ruto will also meet European leaders for bilateral discussions aimed at expanding trade, attracting investment, and speeding up the implementation of the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.
It added that he will outline opportunities available under Kenya’s economic transformation agenda across areas such as energy, industry, and major infrastructure projects.
"The President will also hold bilateral talks with European leaders to expand trade, deepen investment, and advance the implementation of the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.
"He will showcase opportunities under Kenya's economic transformation roadmap, targeting a transition to a first-world economy, including public-private-partnership-ready projects such as large-scale irrigation supported by mega dams, the expansion of clean and industrial energy, and major infrastructure upgrades covering roads, airports, ports, and railways," the statement further read.
State House also said that Ruto will go on to co-chair the AU Institutional Reform Committee in his role as Champion of AU Institutional Reforms.
"President Ruto will then co-chair the AU Institutional Reform Ad Hoc Committee of Heads of States in his capacity as Champion of AU Institutional Reforms. He will brief his peers on the progress made towards implementing various reform mandates that strengthen the Union's governance, peace and security approaches while enhancing the AU's financial independence," the statement concluded.
Elsewhere, Ruto has announced plans to travel to Malaysia next year in a visit expected to unlock new opportunities in housing, education, health, and private sector collaboration.
The announcement was made on Monday, November 24, during a joint press conference at State House where Ruto and Malaysian Prime Minister Andrew Ibrahim outlined new areas of cooperation.
"I will be visiting Malaysia next year and carry quite a bit of the private sector with me so that they can come and see what Malaysia has done with the housing program, human resource development and matters health," he said.
Additionally, Ruto noted that Malaysia has been invited to participate in Kenya’s public-private partnership framework and confirmed that its prime minister will meet Kenya’s education leaders to explore collaboration.
"I have invited Malaysia to participate in public private partnership. The Prime minister of Malaysia will be meeting with our education stakeholders to discuss matters education," he added.
