Members of Parliament, led by Kilifi North MP Owen Baya, converged at the Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9, to witness the post-mortem examination of their late colleague, nominated MP Denar Joseph Hamisi.
Hamisi died on Saturday, October 6, after his vehicle crashed into a tree near his residence in Karen, Nairobi.
The accident occurred just a few metres from his home, cutting short the life and career of a leader described by colleagues as committed, diligent, and passionate about national service.
Until his sudden death, Hamisi served actively in the National Assembly, sitting on both the Departmental Committee on Sports & Culture and the Select Committee on National Cohesion & Equal Opportunities.
His committee roles placed him at the centre of efforts to promote unity, cultural development, and equitable opportunities across the country.

A requiem mass in his honour has been scheduled for Thursday, December 11, at Ridgeways Baptist Church starting at 11:00am.
The service will provide an opportunity for family, friends, legislators, and the public to pay their final respects.
Following the Nairobi service, an overnight vigil will be held in Mazeras, Kwale County, on Friday, December 12, ahead of the final farewell set for Saturday, December 13.
Hamisi's demise was announced to the public by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Wetang’ula said the MP had entered parliament under the former Amani National Congress (ANC) party, which was then led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Wetang’ula paid tribute to Hamisi, describing him as a dedicated and hard-working representative who consistently placed the interests of the House and ordinary citizens first.
He also extended sympathy to the bereaved family, delivering Parliament’s message of comfort to relatives and friends.
"He will be fondly remembered for humility and steadfast commitment to service to the nation. His passing is a great loss not only to the House but also to the nation at large.
"On behalf of all members and staff of the National Assembly, and indeed on my own behalf, I convey the heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Hon. Denar, and to all those who experienced his humility and steadfastness to service to the nation and the community," he said.
According to eyewitnesses, the lawmaker was in his car alone when it reportedly lost control, swerved off the road into a ditch, and collided with a tree.
Mathew Owire, an eyewitness, recounted that Hamisi succumbed to the impact, having sustained severe head injuries and heavy bleeding.
Together with other onlookers, he helped retrieve the body from the wreckage before police arrived to secure the site and take it away.
The vehicle, which was badly damaged at the front, was later hauled to the police station.
"I arrived and found him unconscious, bleeding heavily, and unable to respond. I called on my colleagues to assist in pulling him out of the vehicle, but his head was trapped against the door, which wouldn’t open.
