The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2025 Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) results.
Speaking on Thursday, December 11, KNEC CEO David Njengere said learners, parents, and schools can now access the results through both online and SMS platforms.
To check the results online, users are required to visit the Ministry’s selection portal at https://selection.education.go.ke/my-selections, where they can enter the learner’s assessment number in the designated field.
Once submitted, the platform displays the full results, including subject scores and placement details.
The ministry has also advised users to save or print a copy of the result slip for future reference, while schools will issue printed copies as well.

For those without internet access, the ministry has provided an SMS option for school selection details.
To check a KJSEA learner’s selected schools, send their assessment number to 22263. The SMS costs Ksh30.

Meanwhile, Njengere confirmed the scale of this year’s national assessment, emphasising the significant number of participating learners.
"We had a total of 1,130,587 candidates who were registered for the 2025 KJSEA assessment. These were spread out in 24,366 junior schools across the country. We also administered a qualifying test to 2,032 students in Grade 9.
"These were learners coming into the country from other systems, countries in the world, and they were required to be assessed because they had not been registered for KPSEA or those who had missed KPSEA for one reason or the other," he said.
Njengere also highlighted the extensive marking process and the manpower involved.
“The marking and scoring of KJSEA results, the council engaged 11,239 examiners to mark the structured questions and they were hosted in 21 marking centres, while the machine scoring of the multiple choice questions was done concurrently here in the council," he added.
