Former Nairobi City County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken to social media to celebrate his son Gift Osinya completing the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
In at tweet, Sonko recounted his moments with Osinya, whom he adopted in 2014.
“Today was again a moment of great joy and a big milestone for us as a family when Master Gift Osinya completed his KCSE at the Lenana School. My son Gift, I am so proud of you and truly grateful to God for the blessing you have been in our lives,” Sonko stated.

Osinya joined Lenana School in 2017 after attaining 399 marks in the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.
Then, Sonko gifted him Ksh399,000 and set aside Ksh2 million for his education.
He has a younger brother called Satrine Osinya who was also adopted by Sonko.
Satrine hit international headlines after he was left with a bullet in the head following a terrorist attack on Joy Jesus Repentance church in Mombasa in 2014.
He was 18 months old when he cheated death. The boys' mother was one of the six people who died in the attack.
“The heartbreaking picture of Gift Osinya carrying his injured brother, Baby Satrine Osinya went viral, and I was deeply touched by the plight of the two little boys who had lost their mother in the most cruel way, as Kenyans were,” Sonko said.
Despite the biological father being alive, Sonko took full responsibility for the boys. He recently bought Satrine, a brand new Mercedes Benz.
“I pray that the God of Daniel, Meshack, and Abednego who saved your life, and that of younger brother Satrine, will forever walk before you and with you at all times as you enter the next phase of your life as a young adult," Sonko told Gift.
