Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across eight counties, including Nairobi and Kiambu, on Thursday.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across eight counties on Thursday, September 17.

In a notice on Wednesday, September 16, the company said the outages will affect Nairobi, Kajiado, Nakuru, Kisumu, Kisii, Nyeri, Kiambu and Kwale counties.

In Nairobi, the interruption will affect Chania Avenue, Jamhuri Estate and Moi Girls School, as well as Ring Rd Kilimani, Wood Ave, Adlife Plaza, Eastlands Hotel, French Sch, Prestige Plaza, Mugo Kibiru, Toi Mkt, Woodley Est and Togo Flats.

Other affected areas include parts of Suna Rd, parts of Ngong Rd, Toi Pri, Joseph Kangethe Rd and part of Kindaruma Rd, alongside adjacent customers. The interruption is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Kajiado, power will be interrupted in Bulbul and Kerarapon, including Kangawa, SGR, Vet Farm, Juanco, Bulbul, Kerarapon, Masai Sch and Jogoo Rd.

Adjacent customers will also be affected between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Nakuru customers in parts of Naivasha Town will experience an interruption affecting Crayfish, Kwa Muhia, Kongoni, Maiela, Duro Centre, Lake Oloiden Resort, Aquila, Sagutiek, Rain Forest, Ndabibi and Eburru Hills. 

The outage is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In Kisumu, the affected section will include Keda Ceramics, Keda, Miwani Police, a section of Miwani and adjacent customers. The interruption will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kisii will have an interruption covering Nyachenge and Kerina, as well as Botoro, Riotanchi, Iyabe, Misesi, Mwata, Sigisi, Misisita, Gakero and Nyamboga. 

Adjacent customers will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Nyeri, the affected areas include Chinga, Demka Kagicha, Chinga Boys, Chinga Girls, Mukurweini Water Woks, Ruruguti Mkt, Kagongo, Major Wachira Farm, Demka Daries and Kagicha Mkt.

The interruption will also cover Gicici Mkt, Muirungi Mkt, Kahutiri TBC, Father Kinyari and Kanorwe, alongside adjacent customers. The scheduled maintenance period is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kiambu has three separate outage sections listed in the notice. 

The Makongeni-Gatuanyaga section will affect Kisii Est, Thika Barracks, MKU Pavilion, Landless Est, Muguga Mkt, Gatuanyaga Mkt, Gatuanyaga Pri and parts of Makongeni.

Other affected customers in this section include St. Mulumba & Kibuka Catholic Church, Makongeni Police Stn, KCB Makongeni, St. Mulumba Catholic Church, Carter Oakhill School and Glorious Fountain Academy, as well as adjacent customers. The interruption is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Mworoto-Kenflora Growers section will affect Muhugu Farm, Mworoto, Anmer Pri, Zaria Est, Dewridge Est, Kenflora Growers and Nyala Farmhouse, together with adjacent customers. The interruption will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The third Kiambu section, covering Gitaru, Nyathuna and Kirangari, will affect Gitaru, Kanjeru, Cura, Muthure, Ruku, Nyathuna, Gikuni, Kirangari and Tingati A & B. Adjacent customers will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Kwale, the Ukunda-Msambweni section will experience an interruption affecting Mvindeni, Mascrape, Kona Musa, Ibiza, Bongwe, Diani Police, Msambweni, Lingalunga, Shimoni and Shimba Hills, together with adjacent customers. 

The scheduled interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
