KPLC Announces Power Shutdowns in 7 Counties on Tuesday

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in several parts of the country on Tuesday, October 6.

In a notice on Monday, October 5, the company said the planned shutdowns will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Narok, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu and Taita Taveta counties.

In Nairobi County, parts of Kitsuru will be affected, including Rosslyn Lone Tree, Ruaka Road, Ruaka Groove, part of Limuru Road and adjacent customers.

Another scheduled interruption in Nairobi will affect the Mombasa Road area. 

The affected customers include Alpha Centre, REREC Offices, Nice & Lovely, Manchester Knit, Viraj Complex, Crown Health, Auto Express Msa Road, Total Petrol Station opposite the airport and adjacent customers.

In Narok County, the interruption will affect Narosora and Loita. 

Areas listed include Narosora Market, Erangata Enteriti Market, Loita, Entasekera Market, Olmeshutie Market, Olorte Market, Kanunga Market and adjacent customers.

Uasin Gishu County will also experience a planned interruption in the Simba Quarry, Pan Paper and Mbacho areas.

The affected locations include Simba Quarry, Panpaper Market, Mbacho, KMTC and adjacent customers.

In Kisumu County, the scheduled shutdown will affect Angira Village, including Angira Secondary School, Angira SDA, Angira Primary School, Angira Village and adjacent customers.

Several areas in Tharaka Nithi County have also been listed for power interruptions. 

In Kiini and Giampapo, the affected areas include Mugona Secondary School, Giampapo Primary School, PCEA Kiini Primary School, Giakanja Primary School, Ikame Primary School, Karingangoru Village, Kiini C.F, Kiamumchumbi TBC, Kaonjo TBC and adjacent customers.

Another interruption in Tharaka Nithi will affect Kagutu and Kaanwa.

The listed areas include Kaguntu, Kaanwa Market, Chuka Vocational Technical, Mwanjate Market, Mbwiro, Kajuki Market, Igambangombe, Ntumbara and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, planned maintenance will affect the Munene Industrial, BAT, Bidco and Broadways areas. 

The affected locations include Bidco, Toyota Kenya, Munene Industries, Bhuco Factory, YMCA, Kenya Railways, Kenya Paper Industries, BAT, Broadways, Slaughter, Mama Millers, Mt Kenya Universities, Mundia Area and adjacent customers.

Another shutdown in Kiambu County will affect Wangige and Gathiga. The areas listed include Njonjo Farm, Wangige Hospital, Wangige Market, Kibiku, Gathiga Market, Otani Residence, Kessel Homes and adjacent customers.

In Taita Taveta County, the planned interruption will affect Josa and Dembwa, including the whole of Josa, Dembwa, Kishamba and adjacent customers.
