Mama Ida Odinga gave a fresh update on Oburu Oginga's health during the handover of the Raila Odinga mausoleum.
On Wednesday, October 7, Mama Ida Odinga conveyed ODM Leader Oburu Oginga's apology after he missed the handover and dedication of the Raila Odinga mausoleum.
Mama Ida explained that Oburu was not able to attend the ceremony because he was taken ill and was receiving treatment in the hospital.
She called on Kenyans to remember him in their prayers and expressed hope that the Siaya Senator will join the people on October 15 for the first anniversary.
"Allow me to convey apologies from my senior brother-in-law, Dr Oburu Oginga, who is unfortunately unable to be with us today because he is unwell.
"I know we will continue to pray for him, and soon he will be with us again here," she stated.

During the dedication service, Mama Ida thanked President William Ruto for honouring the memory of the late Raila Odinga.
She described him as one of Raila's long-standing friends and recounted how Ruto stood by the former Prime Minister during the much-disputed 2007 General Election.
Kenya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme further thanked Kenyans for standing with Raila when he was alive and for honouring his memory after his death.
She invited all Kenyans to the memorial service on October 15, which will be exactly a year after the departed ODM founder died.
Earlier, the Office of ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the veteran politician had died.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 6, the party leader’s office described the reports as false and malicious, while assuring Kenyans that Oburu was alive, safe and recovering.
"The Office of the Party Leader wishes to categorically condemn and debunk the malicious, unfounded fake news and propaganda currently being circulated on social media platforms by Maverick Aoko regarding the health and well-being of the senior statesman and ODM Party Leader, Dr Oburu Oginga," the statement read.
