Nyandarua Senator John Methu has accused Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro of being a mole in the opposition.
Nyandarua Senator John Methu has accused Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro of being a mole in the opposition.
Speaking during an interview on Sunday, October 11, Methu said Nyoro’s name would appear prominently if he were to name moles in the opposition.
“If I was to name moles, Ndindi Nyoro’s name would feature very prominently,” Senator Methu said.
The DCP secretary general mentioned that he reached out to Nyoro after being approached by someone in the government and urged to form his own political party.
Methu said he held a discussion with the Kiharu lawmaker at the Safari Park hotel in Nairobi, and Nyoro warned him that forming separate parties would divide votes in the Mount Kenya region.

“The next person I called was Ndindi Nyoro. I met him at Safari Park and told him these guys had offered me this. He is a person I trust; I was talking to him as a brother,” Methu said.
He added, “He told me these people want to divide our votes. William Ruto fears a united mountain, and he does not want us in one party. We must all refrain from forming our parties because if we form our parties, we will split our votes.”
Senator Methu also claimed that Nyoro assured him he would join the Rigathi Gachagua-led DCP party.
“We had that conversation, and he told me he would join our party. I told him he is senior to me; he is a second-term MP and participated in the running mate discussion in 2022. So, if you come to our party, the pecking order will automatically change, and you will be number two to Gachagua,” Methu narrated.
The Nyandarua Senator further said he was surprising when he heard Nyoro announcing he had formed his own political party.
According to Senator Methu, the move by Nyoro contradicted their earlier discussion at Safari Park.
“When I heard him say that he has a party, I could not believe my ears. Because that is not the discussion that he heard. It is him who told me that another party is a creation of William Ruto,” Methu added.
This comes weeks after Nyoro lashed out at a leader within the United Opposition over consistent claims that he was President William Ruto's mole.
Speaking on Monday, September 7, Nyoro, without mentioning names, hit out at the leader, stating that he was the one who had plans to work with the president.
He stated that he was done with the president, and those who still wanted to form alliances with him should do so without dragging his name along.
"Next time you want to insult Ndindi Nyoro, stop sending people or using coded language; mention me by name. I will face you eye to eye.
"Whoever wants to go back to Ruto is free to do so. If you want his money or to work with him, go back but leave me alone. I have no time to waste," Nyoro stated.
The Peoples Party of Kenya leader made it clear that he would work with those who are willing and would not force himself on people who have reservations.
He further warned a Senator, who maintained sustained attacks on him, to desist from the same. Nyoro questioned the leader to table his performance record for the people.
