Justice Jessie Lessit on Thursday 1st July 2021 announced that she will hear and conclude the Willie Kimani murder case.
The case, which has been dragging since 2016, will now be heard every Thursday and Friday from July 8th to July 30th.
Justice Lesiit's decision comes after the late Willie Kimani's family issued an impassioned appeal asking for the case to be expedited having last been heard on December 10th 2020.
They were speaking to a local media house on what was the 5th anniversary of the cold-blooded murder of Mr Kimani.
“I would really request for Justice Lessit to finish the job…I would ask President Uhuru Kenyatta, would you want him to get justice? Even Chief Justice Martha Koome, I believe she’s a mother, if it was her son or daughter, would they ensure that they get justice?” Asked Hannah Kinuthia, Willie Kimani's widow.

Kimani disappeared on June 23rd, 2016 having left his home early on that fateful Thursday morning for Mavoko Law Courts.
He was to represent a client in a case where a police officer from Syokimau AP Camp was accused of assault. Willie Kimani did not return home.
According to witness statements, he was abducted alongside his client Josephat Mwenda and driver Joseph Muiruri after the appearance at Mavoko Law courts.
The bodies of the three were found floating on Ol Donyo Sabuk River in Machakos County.
Four police officers Fredrick Leliman, Leonard Mwangi, Silvia Wanjiku, Stephen Cheburet and a police informant were charged with the murders.
44 witnesses have since their testimony before the court since the case started in 2016 with two more yet to get onto the stand.
