Ugunja Member of Parliament (MP) Opiyo Wandayi has said that he is not sure if former premier Raila Odinga is interested in running for President in the 2022 General election.
Speaking during an interview on Monday, August 02, 2021, MP Wandayi mentioned that Odinga's supporters are demanding that he runs for presidency in next year's elections.
"I am not sure if Raila Odinga is interested in running for the presidency in 2022. What I am sure of is that we, his supporters, those of us who believe in his transformative agenda, are demanding that Raila Odinga runs for presidency in 2022," the legislator affirmed.
The legislator added that the issue of how many times a person has run for president is out citing history where people have run for presidency many times until they won.
While Odinga has been cagey about running for Presidency in 2022, he has given several hints indicating that he will be at the ballot box.

On July 7th, 2021 via his social media accounts, Odinga unveiled a 15-point blueprint in what he termed a transformative agenda for the country, the clearest indication that he might make a fifth stab at the presidency.

On Sunday, 1st August 2021, Odinga sent the strongest signal of reuniting with his National Super Alliance (NASA) principals Kalonzo MUsyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula ahead of the 2022 General Election.
Despite the NASA partners exiting from the outfit on grounds of mistrust and dishonesty, Odinga joined ranks with his political peers saying they might unite under a different umbrella.
According to the Opposition chief, while NASA is dead, the divorce does not mean that they cannot mend fences and reunite.
