The former premier stated that the strength of Kenya's democracy is evidenced by the strength of parties.

“The strength of our democracy is the strength of our political parties. There must be tolerance among political parties, political competition is healthy in our country; it strengthens democracy and that is the best way to make our country grow and prosper," Odinga stated.

The ODM Leader recognised Gideon's political achievements, describing him as an abled leader in the country.

Odinga recounted the burial of late former President Daniel Arap Moi, where Raymond Moi took the former head of state's trademark baton and handed it over to Gideon.

According to the former premier, while Raymond may be the elder brother, Gideon is the senior, politically.

He urged Gideon to ignore talks of him being a 'dynasty', recounting how the former head of state raised his family.

“...Moi alipata tu kwa sababu ya uwezo wake, hata Jaramogi, hata Kenyatta na hata Uhuru na Gideon na hata Raila. Kwahivyo Gideo simama imara tuko pamoja…” Odinga stated.

The ODM Leader attended the forum after meeting a section of members of parliament from Mount Kenya at the Serena Hotel.
