Richard Ngatia has intensified his Nairobi Gubernatorial campaigns after officially launching his bid on Sunday, April 10 in Kangemi.

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) boss on Monday expounded on his vision for the County stating that he was bringing business into politics as opposed to politics into business.

"It is not about politics. It is about business and fixing the city.  I am bringing business into politics as opposed to politics into business," Ngatia stated.

Touching on the perennial water shortage in Nairobi County, Ngatia said the pipes in Nairobi County need to be rehabilitated and ensure every ward has a borehole.

"We talk about our water which comes from Murang'a. The pipes that we have currently are the old pipes that were used since independence. I don't think we clean them regularly. Those pipes were serving 500,000 people yet the population has grown right now to approximately 4.7 million people," the KNCCI boss said.

On health matters, Ngatia noted, “We want to make sure that at a county level there's access to free medical healthcare and medicines."

Speaking on Sunday during his gubernatorial launch, Ngatia promised to create emolument for the youth in Nairobi.

“Nyinyi vijana kila ward tutawapea machine kumi kutegeneza cabro na sisi kama county tutazinua tujenge mabarabara nazo,” he said.

The businessman will now have to square it out with business lady Agnes Kagure, Polycarp Igathe, and Governor Ann Kananu for the Jubilee Party ticket.
