Igathe said he has been endorsed by fellow Jubille party contestants and Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi.

Businesswoman Agnes Kagure has announced that she is still in the race to be the Next Governor of Nairobi County.

Kagure's remarks come at a time when the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance is expected to announce his line-up for Nairobi Governor seats.

The seat of the Governor has proved to be a nightmare not only to Azimo contestants but also to leaders of parties affiliated with the coalition.

On Thursday, Nairobi Governor Aspirant Polycarp Igathe told Citizen TV he has been endorsed by fellow Jubille party contestants and Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi.

He said he reached out to Kagure and Richard Ngatia and they agreed to back him.

Kagure on Friday, however, maintained that she is still in the race.

She appeared to dismiss reports that she is out of the race saying her bid is unstoppable.

"So many rumours are being peddled by agents of doom, but they are just that, idle rumours! We began this journey years ago and officially launched it on January 7th. I have no plans of abandoning the hundreds of thousands who believe in it halfway," Kagure wrote on Facebook.

She added: "Our dream of a better Nairobi that is supportive of our talents and ambitions, a city that is the envy of other cities, and a county that takes care of its residents is firmly on course".

A source aware of Kagure's plan told Nairobi Leo that the businesswoman is eyeing the Independent ticket now after it became apparent that she could not get the Jubilee party ticket.

This comes even as the Nairobi Governor lineup is set to be unveiled this Friday.

"As I have been reminded severally, this is no longer about me but about us. Let us maintain our focus on the better days ahead!" Kagure added.
