Ledama termed the construction of the expressway as a "Shoddy work"

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has exposed alleged shoddy works done on the newly constructed Nairobi Expressway.

Through a photo posted on his social media sites, the vocal ODM Senator faulted contractors of the multi-billion project for failing to meet the expected standards and for the construction of poor drainages.

The Narok Senator Ledama, who had just paid to use the road, claimed that the expressway road is also not as smooth as expected but bumpy.

In a photo he shared on his page, one of the drainage systems has been directed to pour expressway water on the under road mostly used by many motorists.

"This is a shoddy job!! The road is also not smooth at all…very bumpy …" read Ledama's post.

This comes days after another similar complaint was raised by road users.

This was after sections of the Nairobi Expressway drainage system were left hanging and in the process spilled water to the lower road, affecting under users. This was however fixed after a public outcry.

Recently, Moja Expressway, the firm managing the project announced that motorists using the newly constructed elevated road will not be allowed to take photos.

The company said this will be enforced to ensure the safety of all motorists who will be using the road.

"Being an Expressway and for safety reasons, motorists will not be allowed to align or take photos on the road," Moja Expressway stated on its Twitter page.

The President of the Athletics in Kenya, Jackson Tuwei has revealed that athletes of the Uhuru Classic marathon are expected to use the Expressway on May 8, (tomorrow) ahead of the official launch.

The official opening of the road for public use is expected to be in May and the motorists will pay up to Sh350 to use the road.
