He said he will appoint two influentials from Meru into his government's top positions

Roots Party Leader George Wajackoyah has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto over his recently unveiled manifesto.

Speaking on Friday, July 8, during his campaigns in Meru county, Wajackoyah poked holes in Ruto's Bottom-up economic model, saying his manifesto is the best to offer solutions to Kenyan problems.

According to Wajakoyah, Ruto's Bottom-up manifesto is not realistic since it is promising Kenyans what Ruto will not be able to deliver.

In particular, the Roots Party leader lashed out at Ruto saying his manifesto does not address the needs of police officers, especially graduate officers who are allegedly paid the same low amount as regular police constables despite having degrees.

"It doesn't even address the problem that police officers are passing through especially graduate officers who are paid the same amount as their normal counterparts. How do you expect a police graduate who is earning the same amount as a regular constable to survive with the HELB loans he took to advance his/her university education?" he posed

He went ahead to reveal that he will elevate President Uhuru's Interior PS George Kinoti to the position of Interior CS in his government should Kenyans elect him the next president.

"There is somebody whom we schooled together with in England, a short man who wears spectacles and is very learned. He is called Muthomi from within Meru and I will make that man my Attorney General. I will also make PS George Kinoti my Interior CS so that Meru people can feel part of my government," stated Wajackoyah.

At the same time, Wajakoyah defended his bang legalization plans, claiming other African and global countries like Rwanda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Canada have legalized Marijuana.

He said his government will legalize bhang and rear snakes for export to generate revenue for the country.

His sentiments come just a day after DP Ruto accused him, claiming that the parallel unveiling of his manifesto and that of Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajacoyah was a ploy to steal the limelight from him.

The DP accused Wajacoyah saying he was parachuted at the last minute to divide the attention on the manifesto launch between the two presidential candidates.

“I want to be respectful to other candidates but a fellow was parachuted so that we share the screens. I mean…which again speaks to the narrative of a biased media so the media needs to interrogate itself,” stated Ruto during his interview with Kenyans on Thursday
