President William Ruto on Tuesday, September 27, held his first meeting with the outgoing Cabinet at State House, Nairobi.
Among the attendees was outgoing Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i, who was an ardent critic to the Head of State during the campaign season leading to the August general election.
Matiang’i was pictured after the meeting having a light moment with President Ruto and reacting to the development, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale asked the CS to remember when he teargassed him.
The vocal lawmaker alleged that Matiang’i teargassed him while he was fighting for Ruto to become President.

Khalwalwe told the outgoing CS that the incident should serve his pride of thinking that he would hold to power for eternity adding that it was all over for him.
“Our dear Dr. Matiangi, remember the many times you teargassed me as I fought for this man to be President? Hahaa, it served your excessive pride to think that the power you welded was for eternity. Sir, it is all over!” Khalwale stated.
Meanwhile among outgoing Cabinet secretaries who attended the meeting at State House were Joe Mucheru, George Magoha, Mutahi Kagwe, Amb. Ukur Yatani, Amb. Amina Mohamed, Raychelle Omamo, Najib Balala, Eugene Wamalwa and Peter Munya.
Many of the CSs openly campaigned against President Ruto in the last elections. The Head of State is yet to name his new Cabinet.
