In his visit to Uganda, the President is expected to hold talks with President Yoweri Museveni during which they will also discuss remarks made by his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Ruto will expect the Ugandan counterpart to give him assurance that the tweets made by his son do not reflect the position of Uganda.
Museveni on Wednesday issued his apology to Kenyans in a statement even as he sorts to clarify the position of Uganda following the son's outbursts.
"I am very sorry for what my son Muhoozi did. I ask our Kenyan brothers and sisters to forgive us for tweets sent by General Muhoozi, former Commander of the Land Forces," he said on Wednesday.
Museveni further said it was not correct for his son to utter such remarks.
"It is not correct for Public officers, be they civilian or military, to comment or interfere in any way, in the internal affairs of brother countries,” he said.
“The only available legitimate forum is the Peer Review Mechanism of the African Union or confidential interactions among us or EAC and AU for not public comments.”
After his visit to Uganda, the President will on Monday proceed to Tanzania where they will hold talks with President Samia Suluhu during which they will strengthen bilateral ties.
