Farmer’s Choice recognized the drivers for their role in breaking gender barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport.

Farmer’s Choice has recognized Pauline Sheghu and Linet Ayuko for their participation in the recently concluded WRC Safari Rally.

In a statement on Wednesday, March 26, Farmer’s Choice recognizing their role in breaking gender barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport.

"It’s inspiring to see initiatives that empower women in motorsport, like the recent WRC event in Kenya. Farmers Choice, like every other organization, is also making strides in supporting female athletes, re-enforcing the importance of women’s empowerment in all fields. The recent WRC Safari Rally in Kenya showcased significant advancements in gender representation within motorsport," the statement read. 

The company described Sheghu and Ayuko’s participation as a symbol of resilience and progress, strengthening the sport’s inclusivity. 

"The participation of Pauline and Linet symbolizes resilience and the breaking of gender barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport. Farmer’s Choice's involvement towards WRC in the future extends beyond sponsorship but rather aims to leverage the rally’s economic impact on Kenya," the statement added.

The WRC Safari Rally, held in Naivasha, from March 20-23, was the third round of the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship.

Elfyn Evans, driving for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT alongside co-driver Scott Martin, emerged victorious, finishing with a time of 4:20:03. 

Evans beat Hyundai’s Ott Tänak by nearly two minutes, becoming the first British driver to win the Safari Rally in 23 years since Colin McRae’s success. 

Thierry Neuville of Hyundai took third place. 

In the WRC2 category, Gus Greensmith and co-driver Jonas Andersson won on their first point-scoring outing of the season, also securing a notable sixth place overall. 

Nikhil Sachania and Deep Patel claimed victory in the WRC3 category. 

Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT successfully defended their manufacturers' title, reinforcing their dominance at the Safari Rally since its WRC return in 2021.
