Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has broken his silence following an explosive statement by Lilian Ng'ang'a on Thursday, November 4, 2021.
In the cheeky response, Governor Mutua borrowed from an early 1920s poem by American writer Max Ehrmann's Desiderata.
“Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons," Mutua stated.
The Governor also gave an update of his visit to the US where he mentioned that he was enjoying an early morning sun basking in Boston.

Lillian accused Governor Mutua of frustrating and threatening her and her close allies.
According to Lillian, Dr Mutua and his bodyguard walked to her Kileleshwa apartment on September 8, 2021 and took away her personal car using a spare key without her knowledge.
"I personally incorporated on 30/6/2014 when I held 90.9% of the shareholding. Indeed, I named the company "Ndash" after my own high school nickname.
"The two documents, which bear a stamps dated 1210 and 13th August 202, bear what resembles my signature, but not in original form and clearly the signatures have been electronically superimposed to provide the impression to the Registrar of Companies that the transaction is genuine, while in effect the documents are clearly forgeries," she said.
