At least five people have lost their lives after a bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident Monday morning on Isinya road in Kiserian, Kajiado county.
The bus belonging to Ngong Vegetables is said to have been transporting workers from Isinya town when it rolled around 7 am.
The workers were being transported to a flower farm owned by Ngong Vegetables.
Three women and two men died on the spot.
Those injured in the accident were rushed to Isinya sub-county hospital but the facility was found out of service as it was closed.
It is then that the injured were rushed to Kajiado Referral Hospital.
Isinya Sub County Police Commander Patrick Manyasi said many of the victims sustained limb injuries.
A survivor of the accident said the vehicle swerved several after its brakes failed while heading to Kiserian.
Another worker said the bus was overloaded since it had about 72 workers instead of its 42 capacity.
The wreckage of the bus involved in the accident has been towed to Isinya police station.
The worker said the bus is known to be having issues with brakes.
