The ODM party has responded to a legal suit threat the Kenyan band boy Sauti Sol issued to the Azimio Coalition after they played their song, Extravaganza, during the unveiling of NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua as a running mate on Monday.
The band said they did not consent to the song being played at the function and termed the move as copyright infringement.
In a rejoinder, the ODM party says they did so because they love their music.
They noted that playing their song was nothing but a show of love to their music.
"We would like to assure our celebrated musical team @sautisol that we love them and appreciate their music so much. The group has carried our country’s flag so high in international fora and every Kenyan appreciates this. Playing their song yesterday was a show of love for their work," the ODM party tweeted.

The group on Monday generated massive reactions among Kenyans after they said they will take legal action against the Azimio coalition.
Sauti Sol said they were not consulted to allow the song to be played at the unveiling of Raila's deputy.
The group clarified that they are not a member of any political formation and do not support any political aspirant for any seat.
“We are not aligned to nor associated with the Azimio La Umoja Campaign or any other Political Movement and/or Party, their Presidential aspirants, Vice Presidential aspirants and candidates at large. We are fully apolitical,” the statement read.
“We shall be seeking legal remedy for this clear violation of our copyright.”
