Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has cautioned Governor Johnson Sakaja against acting unilaterally in the running of the city-county affairs.
Sonko's argument was informed by the county government's resolve to ban nightclubs and also the relocation matatus from the city center.
Speaking on Monday, December 26, during a fete in Meru county, Sonko accused Sakaja of failing to consult widely while implementing certain policies.
For instance, he cited the directive on nightclubs which has not augured well for the owners of the establishments.
He warned that he would mobilise for Sakaja's impeachment should he continue forcing some of the directives that unfavorably target proprietors and their businesses.

"If Sakaja continues to harass Nairobi business people we will mobilise people and send him home. We can also make the city ungovernable for him and finally send him home just like the first governor, Evans Kidero,” he said.
Regarding the relocation of matatus and other PSVs from the CBD, Sonko advised Sakaja to engage the relevant stakeholders.
He sided with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who had called on Sakaja to slow down in the implementation of the policies.
As the deputy president has stated, Sonko added that Sakaja would not have won were it not for the business community in the city which came together to elect him.
