In a public notice, Kenya Railways cited "unavoidable" circumstances for the suspension of the services.

"We do sincerely apologise to all our esteemed customers for any inconvenience caused," the Kenya Railways further said.
The cancellation of services came on the very day the Azimio La Umoja coalition called for countrywide protests.
Raila said the protests will be held on Mondays and Thursdays to show disapproval of the current regime.
The ODM leader has demanded the opening of the IEBC servers, lowering the cost of living, and reversal of the process of recruiting the IEBC commissioners.
The train services are used by many Kenyans who seek to access the city to head to their various places of work.
