Waluke is accused of fraudulently acquiring Sh297 million from the NCPB.

Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke on Thursday brought a parliamentary session to a standstill after he made his comeback to the National Assembly four months after being arrested.

Waluke was earlier this week released from custody on a Sh10 million bail after successfully appealing a decision by the magistrates’ court.

Following the release, he on Thursday proceeded to Parliament for his first seating after securing bail.

Shortly after making his entry into the chamber, members welcomed him joyfully with some contravening the Standing Orders while at it.

Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok clapped his hands loudly forcing the acting speaker Jessica Mbalu to demand an apology from him.

“We don’t clap our hands; you know how we do it. Let us have decorum in the House,” said Mbalu as quoted by Star.

Responding to the speaker, Sankok said:  “We are colleagues, Speaker you know I don’t have legs so I must use the hands and mouth.”

Speaking for the first time after his release, Waluke thanked Kenyans for standing with him, adding that he is not a thief and has never stolen anything.
