On Sunday, Gachagua lamented that Ruto betrayed him despite standing by him during the 2022 polls.

Moses Kuria has called out Rigathi Gachagua following his comments on betrayal by President William Ruto.

In a statement posted on his X account, the senior adviser in Ruto's Economic Council wondered why the impeached DP was lamenting betrayal yet he had been warned prior to the 2022 elections.

According to Kuria, most leaders from the region were keen on forming their own political party to protect their interests in various coalitions.

However, Gachagua opposed the idea. Kuria even stated that they were fought politically by the impeached DP for having their own political parties.

"Dr Thuo Mathenge No Wanguku, William Kabogo, Peter Munya, Mwangi wa Iria, Martha Karua warned you about going into elections without a political party. You fought us like burukenge. Now you want us to cry with you into the opposition," read the statement in part.

Further, the adviser called on the impeached DP to move on given that he had already been replaced in government.

"We have moved on. Prof Kithure Kindiki is the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya," he added.

Earlier on Sunday, Gachagua had lamented that Ruto betrayed him despite standing by him during the 2022 polls.

According to the former DP, Ruto had become vicious by ordering the withdrawal of his security after the impeachment.

"It's unfortunate that when I was here in the hospital, my brother and friend, President William Ruto ordered the withdrawal of my security from the hospital here. I've been here alone without a single officer looking after me," he stated in his address to the media.

"He ordered the withdrawal of security guards in my rural home in Nyeri, in my private home here in Karen and also those who are close to me, were disarmed and given a warning that they should not be anywhere near me. I didn't know President William Ruto could be that vicious."
