We Look Forward to Deepening Our Collaboration - Ruto Congratulates Trump

President William Ruto has congratulated Donald Trump following his election as the 47th President of the United States.

In an update on his social media pages on Wednesday, November 6, Ruto said Kenya is looking forward to enhancing its working relationship with the US under Trump's leadership. 

"Your victory is a testament to the firm resolve of the American people to repose confidence in your visionary, bold and innovative leadership. As you embark on this phase of your journey of leadership, Kenya stands ready to further enhance our cooperation on matters of mutual interest including trade, investment, technology & innovation, peace and security, and sustainable development. 

"Kenya values its longstanding partnership with the United States spanning over sixty years grounded in our shared values of democracy, development and mutual respect. We look forward to deepening our collaboration under your leadership as we work together to address global challenges, promote peace and security, and foster inclusive economic growth for the benefit of our peoples," he said.

Ruto further stated that he hopes Trump's tenure will bring progress and unity to the US and strengthen the relationship with Kenya.

"Congratulations once again Mr. President-Elect, and may your tenure bring continued progress and unity to the United States of America and strengthen the bonds between our two great nations. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,' he concluded.

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, is projected to have secured at least the 270 Electoral College votes he needs to return to the White House for a second time after his 2017-2021 term. 

He defeated his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, 60, after a hard-fought campaign, according to the projection.

The election results indicate that Trump triumphed in crucial battlegrounds such as Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, which played a significant role in his overall victory.

In Florida, a major electoral prize with 29 electoral votes, Trump managed to consolidate support among various demographics, reinforcing his standing in a state that has often been a bellwether for national elections. 

Georgia, which had become increasingly competitive in recent years, saw Trump reclaiming support from voters who had previously leaned Democratic. 

North Carolina also proved to be an important Southern battleground where Trump maintained a strong base. 

Meanwhile, Pennsylvania, a critical Rust Belt state with 20 electoral votes, was essential for Trump's strategy as he sought to regain ground lost in the previous election.
