City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has offered to mediate a business dispute involving second-hand car dealer Khalif Kairo and a complaint who has dragged him to court.
In an update on X on Tuesday, January 14, Ahmednasir expressed dismay at the backlash Kairo has received online amid his struggles.
The lawyer took issue with those reveling in Kairo's difficulties, noting that financial challenges are part of the journey for most businesses.
"I don't know Khalif Kairo at all. Of course, I occasionally see him on X living on the fast lane. He has some small second-hand car business that lately got him into trouble. But it sad to see some lowlifes rejoicing at his misfortunes. Good people, all types of businesses face challenges and difficult times. And this young man is facing business challenges," Ahmednasir said.

Ahmednasir called for a more constructive approach to resolving the matter and offered to mediate between Kairo and the complainant to help resolve the matter amicably.
"Taking to court isn't how to treat young aspiring Kenyans trying to make money is a difficult and hostile business environment. I'm willing to mediate between him and the complainant and resolve this matter amicably. I can help," He added.
Kairo was arraigned in court on Monday, January 13, on fraud charges related to undelivered vehicles.
He is accused of inducing clients to transfer substantial sums for vehicle purchases that were never fulfilled.
In one instance, he allegedly received Ksh 2,984,998 from a client for a Subaru Outback, and in another, Ksh 2,145,150 from a Honda Vezel, neither of which were delivered.
Kairo has denied the charges, with his defense team, led by lawyers Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta, arguing that the allegations stem from business rivals' jealousy.
The defense also contends that Kairo has been cooperative with authorities and poses no flight risk, disputing claims that he intended to flee the country based on a pre-booked business trip to New York.
The prosecution, however, has expressed concerns about Kairo's potential to abscond, noting difficulties in tracing him during the investigation.
They have requested that he be remanded during the trial.
Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina is expected to rule on Kairo's bail application today, Tuesday, January 14.
