Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has opened up about the humiliation he faced at the hands of immigration officers in Tanzania.
He revealed that he was not allowed to enter the East African country where he was on a trip.
According to him, he could not be cleared as soon he produced his passport before the Tanzanian officials.
He was detained for three hours, with the immigration team labelling him an Interpol wanted criminal.
"I recently went to Tanzania. I could not be let in when arrived at the Dar es Salaam Airport. When I removed my passport, the write that I am wanted by Interpol. I was detained for three hours...It is so unfortunate that the Tanzanian government put me on the Most Wanted Interpol List. President Samia owes me an apology," Babu said.

This would not be the first time Babu is rubbing shoulders with a regional leader.
In August last year, Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni called the MP out over his links with Ugandan politicians who are against the ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Speaking during the official launch of Raila Odinga’s African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson bid in Nairobi, Museveni said he always receives intelligence reports about the Kenyan parliamentarian.
“There are some individuals in Raila’s group who I don’t think know what they are doing. You know I am a consumer of intelligence service. So, I always see intelligence reports. There is a character called Babu. I always see Babu dealing with anti-NRM groups,” said Museveni.
The Ugandan president, however, delinked Babu from Raila saying he knows the latter as a nationalist.
Babu has been previously spotted campaigning for former Ugandan Presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine.
In 2018, the Ugandan government banned Babu from entering Uganda over undermining President Museveni’s administration.
