Former Deputy President has responded to President William Ruto after he slammed him and other opposition leaders who attended the launch of the People's Liberation Party (PLP).
Speaking on Friday in Taita Taveta County, the Head of State criticized Gachagua, PLP leader Martha Karua, and other leaders saying they spent four hours of the launch discussing him.
President Ruto wondered whether the party that was being launched was named after him.
“I saw some people meeting, saying they are forming a party. Yet, in the four hours they spent talking, all they discussed was William Ruto. Is the party they are forming called William Ruto? So, your agenda, your plan, and your vision is William Ruto?” Ruto posed.
In a response on Sunday, March 2, Gachagua questioned President Ruto on where he found four hours to listen to them instead of working for Kenyans.

"William Ruto, I saw you complaining that we talked about you for four hours. First of all, where did you even get four hours to watch what we were saying? When will you work if you are spending all your time watching videos of what we are saying?" Gachagua questioned.

The former DP went on to say that they have alternative plans to offer Kenyans but their most urgent one is to remove Ruto from office.
"It's not that we don't have a plan, we have a plan. But the first and most urgent plan given to us by Kenyans is to remove you. It is not possible to implement our plan before we remove you,” he stated.
Gachagua mentioned that their plan after taking power includes ending extrajudicial killings, restoring the healthcare system, and halting the affordable housing program.
“One of our plans is to end abductions and extrajudicial killings and you are the mastermind behind them. The other plan is to restore our healthcare system, which you yourself have destroyed. Without removing you, we cannot fix it.
“Another issue is these commercial housing projects you have introduced we want to stop them because we want to restore the dignity of the payslip. So, Mr. President, we have many plans, but removing you is a prerequisite for us to implement them,” Gachagua added.
