Various reports that emerged after Raila and Ruto's meeting in Mombasa alleged that there was an agreement of cooperation already in place.

ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga has dismissed reports of a signed agreement between President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

During an interview on Monday, March 3, the Homa Bay county boss maintained that there were yet to be formal engagements between Kenya Kwanza and ODM.

She added that Raila was still engaging with his supporters on the way forward for the party.

However, she acknowledged that some of its members had joined Ruto's Cabinet following the formation of a broad-based government.

"So far, ODM and Kenya Kwanza do not have a formal agreement or documentation that defines our arrangement. That is why when Raila came back, he began consultation with his supporters," she stated.

"After he has heard what the supporters have had to say, he will bring it to the party organs on the direction we take as a party. Currently, we have an arrangement where ODM members are working in the executive party."

On the other hand, she added that the party would consider all options before deciding on their way forward.

However, she expressed concerns over some of the talks that were being witnessed in former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's faction.

"If you want to cooperate, you have to look at what most or nearly aligns with what you believe. All of that is going to be considered," Wanga remarked.

"There are some concerns of red flags. For example, if someone says they are a region and that they are going to sweep seats in some parts of Nairobi, then we get worried."
