Several opposition leaders on Friday, October 10, attended the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) National Delegates Conference (NDC).
The event presided over by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at Uhuru Park in Nairobi County attracted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-K Party leader Eugene Wamalwa, and People's Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua.
Other notable figures who attended the NDC were former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Torome Saitoti, Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior, and Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The Wiper NDC was also attended by party officials, members of parliament, and grassroots leaders.
Kalonzo convened the NDC to review the Wiper’s constitution, deliberating on a proposed name change and charting the party’s strategies to strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general election.

During the NDC, Wiper delegates passed a resolution endorsing Kalonzo as the party’s presidential candidate in the next general election.
“With a deep sense of duty and high resolve, I accept your nomination to be the presidential candidate for the election scheduled for 2027. I accept with a full and grateful heart without reservations,” Kalonzo said while accepting the nomination.
The NDC is the highest decision-making organ of the party, bringing together delegates from across the country.
This comes weeks after the Jubilee Party held its NDC at the Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi.
Speaking in the NDC, Uhuru confirmed that Jubilee Party continues to be a member of the Azimio coalition, despite significant changes within the coalition's membership over recent years.
Uhuru also said the Jubilee Party is actively preparing for the next general election, emphasizing the party's commitment to fielding strong candidates across all elective positions.
"Make no mistake when I say that, like any other political party, we shall be prepared, we shall be preparing for the next general election and doing so in earnest, and it remains our firm intention to field the best possible candidates for all elective positions.
“We shall either do this on our own or we shall do this in concert with like-minded political movements," he explained.
