Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Kihara has attacked former Naivasha MP John Mututho following an auctioneers' raid on her home.
Kihara noted that the dispute stems from a 2007 election petition that has haunted her for nearly two decades. She accuses Mututho of seeking to recover damages through what she termed an unjust process.
"In 2007, Mututho stole my seat and ate my salary for 5 years. Everybody knows. I petitioned the results and lost, then he filed a case based on damages," the MP stated in an emotional address.
She revealed that the legal battle has been a burden for 18 years, and she questioned the logic of seizing her son's livestock and her vehicle to settle the claimed debt of Ksh7.5 million.
"For the last 18 years, I have been carrying this case. Now, he has taken the child's goats and a car. Will that pay the Ksh7.5 million I owe you?" Kihara asked. "You should be ashamed of yourself. I still trust that I will get my date in court and get justice."

The troubles facing the Naivasha legislator intensified on Thursday when auctioneers, escorted by armed police officers, descended on her residence and seized property belonging to her family.
The auctioneers confiscated one of her personal vehicles and 127 goats and sheep, which the MP says belong to her son.

The action was executed to recover damages related to the 2007 electoral dispute between Kihara and Mututho.
Following Thursday morning's incident, Members of the Nakuru County Assembly and other local leaders rallied around the embattled MP to offer support and solidarity.
The MP suggested that the raid was politically motivated and designed to intimidate her for supporting former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. She insisted that she would not be intimidated into silence.
"The OCS had called me saying that he was under pressure to implement an order by the auctioneers, and I told him that I should be present when it was carried out," Kihara explained.
