Meanwhile, Kenya Power has outlined the steps customers should take when their postpaid electricity meter is stolen, including where to report the theft and the documents required to initiate the replacement process.

According to the company, customers should obtain a Police Abstract after reporting the theft at the nearest police station and present the document at a Kenya Power office when requesting a meter replacement.

Customers are also required to carry their National ID, account or meter number, registered phone number, and proof of premises or occupancy when making the replacement request.

"Kenya Power will register the case, assess the account and site, block the stolen account and advise you on applicable replacement and related charges," Kenya Power said.

The company further advised affected customers to ensure that any outstanding electricity bill and applicable replacement or related charges are settled as part of the process.
