President William Ruto joined a host of senior political figures at the wedding of Njuguna Waiguru, son of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and his bride Joanne Rodriguez, in a colourful ceremony Saturday, August 29.
The event held at an undiclosed location, though the vicinity visibly synonymous with the premier settings of Naivasha hotels, drew some of the biggest names in Kenyan politics.
The couple exchanged vows in an outdoor garden setting, with the event styled around a rich maroon, burgundy and green colour palette.
Guests were treated to an elegant décor scheme featuring cascading red floral arrangements, hanging red lanterns and white parasols carried by the bridal party, all set against a backdrop of lush greenery.

Joanne stunned in an off-shoulder white gown featuring intricate lace sleeves and beading.
On his part, Njuguna stood at the altar in a cream tuxedo jacket with satin lapels, paired with an off-white pinstriped shirt and a matching cream bow tie.
He wore his hair in natural twists, and completed the look with tailored cream trousers and brown leather loafers.
Behind them, the bridesmaids in deep maroon gowns lined the aisle, twirling white parasols.
The reception was held under a spacious tent adorned with hanging greenery and red decorative accents, where guests, dressed in a mix of formal wear and vibrant traditional attire, dined at tables dressed in green linen with burgundy accents.
The event attracted governors, MPs and other eminent persons alongside the head of state, underscoring the political weight the Waiguru family commands.
Speaking after attending the wedding, Ruto extended his congratulations to the newlyweds.
"Warmest congratulations to Njuguna Waiguru, son of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and Joanne Rodriguez as you begin your life together in marriage. May you build a strong and happy home, grow together through every season of life, and find in each other enduring friendship, strength and companionship," Ruto said.
He further urged the couple to nurture their union through patience and commitment as they navigate married life together.
"As you walk this journey together, stand by each other, listen with patience, forgive generously and never stop choosing one another. May your marriage be blessed with lasting love, abundant joy and many wonderful years together," he added.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga also graced the occasion, describing it as an honour to witness the union of her colleague's son.
"I was honoured to witness Njuguna Waiguru, the son of my colleague Governor Anne Waiguru, tie the knot with his fiancée, Joanne Rodriguez. May their marriage bring them joy and happiness for a lifetime!" Wanga said.
UDA Nominated Senator Veronica Maina similarly celebrated the couple, wishing them a blessed union.
"Harusi tunayo! Congratulation to the newest couple in town, Ian & Joanne, Governor Ann Waiguru's son and daughter in law. May God beautify their marriage and favour them with wonderful blessings," Maina said.
This marks the second of Waiguru's sons to wed within weeks.
On July 18, the governor celebrated the traditional marriage ceremony of her other son, Don, and his partner Yvonne, marking their Ngurario ceremony with a message of joy and gratitude.
"Congratulations, our son Don, and our daughter Yvonne, on your Ngurario. Seeing you both come together in love and commitment fills our hearts with immense joy and gratitude," Waiguru wrote at the time.
She urged the couple to remain anchored in the values that brought them together as they began their new chapter.
"May the values that brought you here, love, respect, faith, and kindness, continue to guide you, and may you always choose each other as you begin this new chapter," she added.
Waiguru also welcomed Yvonne into the family, expressing excitement for the journey ahead.
This becomes among the prominent marriage ceremonies that have happened in the last few weeks.
Earlier in the month, Ruto witnessed his daughter, Charlene Ruto, undertake her engagement with her lover.
It was on Saturday, August 8, when the president’s residence in Kilgoris, Narok County buzzed with activity as it welcomed distinguished guests gathered to witness Charlene’s betrothal to her partner, Tanzanian tech entrepreneur Isaya Yunge.
