Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in 10 counties, including Nairobi and Nakuru, on Thursday.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in 10 counties on Thursday, October 8, to facilitate maintenance works.

In a notice on Wednesday, October 7, the company said the interruptions will affect 13 scheduled outage areas or sections across Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Nyeri, Kiambu, Kitui, Mombasa, Taita Taveta and Kwale counties.

In Nairobi County, power interruptions will affect Mwihoko, Muthaiga, Bahati and Fedha between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Mwihoko, the affected areas include Mwihoko, KDF Barrack, St Kizito School, Kahawa Sukari B, Ndagama and Finance Estate, alongside adjacent customers.

Part of Muthaiga Road, Serengeti Road, Orchard Close, Othelo Lane, Mobil Plaza and adjacent customers will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The shutdown in Bahati will affect part of Bahati, Kata Mwingi, part of Heshima Road, Our Lady of Mercy, Makongeni, Kaloleni, Burma Market, Maridadi Fabricators and Rikana Supermarket. 

Other affected areas include Quickmart Fedha and parts of Outering and Telaviv, among adjacent customers.

In Fedha, the interruption will affect part of Outside Nyayo Gate B, Rheemah Hospital, Masai Gate Area in Tassia, Tassia Complex, Kajuju Court, Harmony Court, Fedha Estate Gates 1 and 2, Church Road, Quickmart Fedha, Outering, Telaviv and adjacent customers.

In Nakuru County, the Panda, Northlake and part of Naivasha Town areas will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Panda Business Park, Ken Chic, Gathengera, Crushers, Interplant, Hylise, Lemayian, Vegpro, KALRO, KCC, Blue Sky, part of Marula, Loldia, Groove, part of Kasarani and Shalmar, together with adjacent customers.

In Uasin Gishu County, Centre Kwanza, Kaplemur, Tiret, Sugoi and Kosachei will be without power between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., alongside adjacent customers.

In Kisumu County, the Marera area will experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected locations include Huma Girls, Arude School, Marera and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, power will be interrupted in Gatuamba between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Gatumba Market, Gatuamba Shopping Centre, Gatuamba Village 2, Gatuamba Secondary School, Gatuamba Dispensary and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, Kenya Power has scheduled interruptions in Sasini and Ting’anga from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Sasini, Ting’anga Market, Ting’anga Secondary School, Ting’anga Primary School, Ngemwa and Kangongo, as well as adjacent customers.

The Ngethu, Ngorongo and Igegania areas will also be affected during the same period. 

The listed locations include Ngethu Lower Camp, Kariuki Muiruri, Ngorongo Dispensary, Ngorongo Market, Ndekei Secondary School, Dry Village, Kariua, Kamwangi DC S Area, Kamwangi Market, Kairi Market, Nguna Village, Nyamathumbi, Karuri and Igegania Hospital.

Other affected locations in the same section include Banguro Village, Nyamagara, Mukuyuini, Kang’oo, Mukurwe, Gatei, Kanjuku, Watathii Gathaiti, Mbici Village, Ruburi, Mbogoro, Karera Village, Kagumoini, Ritho Village, Icaciri Secondary School and Karingaini Village, alongside adjacent customers.

Kawaida and Kawamwaki in Kiambu County will also experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas include Gatono, Kawaida, Kimorori, Nazareth Hospital, Takataka Solutions, Kawamwaki, Utugi and CCM, together with adjacent customers.

In Kitui County, Kamutei, Kalivu and Kyandula will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The shutdown will cover Ilengi, Kangala, Kamutei, Kalivu, Kyandula and adjacent customers.

In Mombasa County, Nyali, Mishomoroni and Kisauni will experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include part of Fidel Odinga Road, Mkomani, Chandarani, ASK Showground Tamarind, Captain Andy, Kengeleni, Samaki Poa, Art Villas, Kongowea, Engen, Orchid, Vapco and Jocham.

Other affected areas include Magongoni, Arkshandam Apartments, Mishomoroni, Kadongo, Kisauni, Mlaleo, Barsheba and Hongera, alongside adjacent customers.

Kakuyuni and Ganda in Mombasa County will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

The listed areas include Kakuyuni, Ganda Mere, Mere SDA, Ganda Centre, Kasimbiji, Goshi, Madunguni, Kavinyalalo, Sun Park, Maisha Mapya, Majivuni and Malindi Bakery, together with adjacent customers.

In Taita Taveta County, the scheduled interruption will affect Kamtonga and Chungaunga from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include the whole of Kamtonga, Chungaunga, Manoa, Classic Mines and adjacent customers.

In Kwale County, Shimba Hills and Shimoni will experience an interruption during the same period. 

The affected areas include Bomani, Milalani, Ramisi, Kanana, Shimoni, Shimbahills, Kidongo, Mwachande, Kikoneni, Mamba, Mwabandari and Msulwa, alongside adjacent customers.
