Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has been arrested allegedly assaulting the society’s CEO, Mercy Wambua.
Havi was arrested on Tuesday at his office in Nairobi and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for questioning.
This comes a day after the LSK Chief Executive filed a complaint at the Muthangari Police Station, claiming that she had been assaulted by Havi.
Wambua in the police report, OB number is 34/12/7/202, said the LSK President injured her right arm and finger during a brawl that erupted during a meeting that turned heated after Havi asked Wambua to leave the meeting.
The alleged assault occurred at their Gatanga Road-based LSK offices on Monday.

Havi had on Monday dismissed the assault claims saying that Wambua forced her way into the boardroom while they were having a meeting with the intention of secretly recording the proceedings.
Last year, the LSK CEO was suspended over gross misconduct but was later reinstated by the society's Council after the vote to have her removed failed to get a two-thirds majority.
"This is to therefore communicate the decision of the Council. Kindly note that you are hereby required to resume your duties with immediate effect," said a statement from the LSK Counsil.
