According to a statement by State House, the Government will effective Saturday, January 1, 2022, roll out the issuance of Covid-19 booster doses.


President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, December 31, 2021, received the booster dose of Moderna Covid-19 vaccine at State House Nairobi.

The Head of State was in the company of Chief Justice Martha Koome who also received the booster Covid-19 injection.

The brief event was attended by Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman and Dr Willis Akhwale, the Chairman of the National Covid-19 Vaccines Taskforce.


According to a statement by State House, the Government will effective Saturday, January 1, 2022, roll out the issuance of Covid-19 booster doses.

However, the booster doses will only be administered to eligible Kenyans who have completed the primary vaccination regime.

President Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta received their first dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination at State House, Nairobi on March 26, 2021.

This comes at a time the government continues to urge Kenyans to get vaccinated amid a new wave of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.

The government has warned that unvaccinated Kenyans risk being denied in-person services.
