Musalia Mudavadi's led Amani National Congress (ANC) is set to announce its presidential candidate in late January.
In a statement, Secretary-General Simon Kamau stated that the party will hold a delegates conference on January 23, 2021, at the Bomas of Kenya.
Kamau noted that the main focus of the meeting would be announcing its flag bearer and declare its stand on the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) presidential bid.
"The avowed purpose of the forum will be to ratify specific decisions of the Amani Council, ratify Amani Council nomination of the Party Leader, as the Party's Presidential Candidate in the National elections scheduled to be held in August 2022 and to ratify amendments to the Amani National Congress Party Constitution," he said.

The SG further stated that ANC is committed in fielding Mudavadi in the August 9 General Elections.
"We are trying to persuade our partners and show them the value that Mudavadi is bringing as flagbearer for OKA. It is not an easy task, it is quite tough, but negotiations are going on and we urge our supporters to be patient with us
"ANC is very committed to the One Kenya Alliance. We are working very hard to see to it that this alliance will survive this political season," Kamau added.
This comes even as reports indicate that both Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga are wooing Mudavadi to their respective political camps.
The intrusion by the duo was confirmed by ANC deputy party leader Ayub Savula when he declared that he was ready to quit should the larty enter into a coalition with DP Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
“UDA has formally written to ANC and Ford Kenya, creating mistrust between the OKA principles,” he said.
