Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has opened up on her sacrifice to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Speaking on Saturday, Ngirici, who quit the Deputy President William Ruto outfit last December, said that she had heavily invested in the party before her exit.
She intimated that together with her husband, Andrew Ngirici, they sold a family house that was valued at millions of money to popularize UDA in Kirinyaga County.
Ngirici, who was drumming up support for her gubernatorial bid at Kiamanyeki, Mwea constituency, said that she regretted the action.
“I sacrificed a lot for the UDA party but I was later shortchanged. Mambo ya kuchagua chama tuwache, let us think about individuals who will represent our interests,” Ngirici told the gathering.

Ngirici said she would run for Kirinyaga’s top seat in the upcoming August general election as an independent candidate to face off with incumbent Anne Waiguru among other candidates.
Waiguru will run on a UDA ticket. Ngirici and Waiguru have previously been at loggerheads over the Kirinyaga gubernatorial position.
Governor Waiguru’s entry into UDA saw Ngirici quit the DP Ruto party as Waiguru was seen as the favourite to get the party’s ticket in the upcoming polls.
Before quitting, Ngirici said she was not afraid of facing off with Waiguru for the UDA ticket but accused the party officials of compelling her to drop the bid in favour of Waiguru.
She stated that there would be no fair nominations in the party.
